Pininfarina Battista gets ready to rumble with 1,900 PS

Automobili Pininfarina has shared a few new teaser images of its all-electric hypercar, the Battista, along with a reveal date.

The coachbuilder’s first self-made production car will debut at the Monterey Car Week in California on August 6, 2021. Production is set to begin later this month, and prices start at around $2.2 million USD.

The new pics fail to show as much as some earlier renders did, only revealing a covered carbon-fiber body sitting on glossy black Impulso wheels. The interior remains even more of a mystery, but the company claims it is draped in eco-friendly faux leather finished in black and stitched with Iconica Blu thread. Alcantara and naked carbon fiber cater for accents.

Pininfarina originally announced the Battista a few years ago, promising to make it the most powerful production car in history. Propelled forward by the quad-motor electric powertrain of the Croatia-made Rimac C_Two/Nevera, it slams the asphalt with 1,900 PS (1,874 hp / 1,397 kW) and 2,300 Nm (1,696 lb-ft) of torque. It darts from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than two seconds and needs only 12 seconds to reach 300 km/h (186 mph) before maxing out at 350 km/h (217 mph). A 120-kWh traction battery grants it up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) of driving range.

A total of 150 units will be made, including 5 Anniversario examples built to celebrate 90 years of Pininfarina. This special edition will debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance opening on August 12, 2021.
