The special edition called the Porsche 911 GT3 90 FA evokes the name of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, a grandson of the company’s original founder and the designer of the original model number 911. F.A. Porsche, who passed away in 2012, would have turned 90 years old this December.
All 90 examples of the car scheduled for production will be finished in a special shade of metallic green that F.A. Porsche chose for his personal car in the 1980s. They will also ride on nostalgia-inducing Fuchs-style wheels and rock gilded Porsche emblems all around.
Inside, brown leather upholstery is accompanied by houndtooth fabric inserts – this kind of textile was the designer’s favorite, as in car interiors so in daily streetwear. His engraved signatures can also be spotted on a commemorative dash plaque and the wooden gear lever.
All prices are private, and we don’t expect them to be very buyer-friendly, given that the base car is a fully loaded Porsche 911 GT3. The select few who manage to pre-order one will also be getting a matching travel bag and a wristwatch inspired by a chronometer designed by F.A. Porsche back in 1972.
