2020 Renault Captur PHEV coming up with 45 km / 28 mi of electric range

The technical specifications of the 2020 Renault Captur Plug-in Hybrid are here at last, so let us take a closer look.

The car comes powered by a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine that delivers 90 hp (71 kW), an electric motor that contributes another 70 hp (52 kW), a starter-generator and a 9.8-kWh battery. The nominal system output thus amounts to 160 hp (119 kW), and the all-electric range is 45 kilometers (28 miles).

Right now, European dealerships stock ICE-powered Captur models. The range includes three gasoline engines (max. 155 hp / 115 kW) and two diesels (max. 114 hp / 85 kW). You can choose between two manual transmission designs (5-G and 6-G) and a 7-G DCT. All the torque goes to the front axle no matter what.

Sales of the electrified Renault Captur will begin next spring.
