2025 Renault Espace bows in Europe

Renault has updated its Escape SUV for the current model year.

The company claims more than 30% body panels are new. The new panoramic roof, Solarbay, is 1.7 meters long and 1.13 meters wide. It is divided into nine individually dimmable sections for comfort. Passengers can use voice commands to tell the car which section to darken or lighten.

The 2025 Espace is also the first mass-produced Renault vehicle to feature a face recognition technology reliant on a camera built into the driver’s a-pillar. The company mentions improved seat profile as well.

Same as before the facelift, the Espace relies on a 1.2-liter petrol turbo engine, an electric motor and a starter-generator to drive the wheels with roughly 200 horsepower (150 kilowatts) in total. It’s not a fast car with a sprint time of 8.8 seconds, but it only consumes 4.8 liters of gas per 100 km, which corresponds to 49 miles per U.S. gallon. Once full, it can cover 1,100 km (683 miles) on a tank.
