Rivian completes its 100,000th EV
The Rivian industrial complex in Normal, Illinois has churned out its 100,000 vehicle, an R1S SUV.
The production began here in September 2021. In Q1 2024, Rivian made 13,980 cars there, nearly 50% more than in the same quarter the year before. By the end of the year, the company plans to produce 57,000 vehicles.
Aside from the R1S, the Rivian EV lineup currently includes a pickup truck called the R1T and a few delivery vans.
