UK study finds out the world’s most popular cars in history

Autocar UK has posted some sales statistics shedding light on the best-selling vehicles over the past half century or so.

Toyota Corolla crowns the rating with over 51 million units produced since 1966. The Ford F-Series trucks landed second with roughly 43 million units made since 1948 across all models.

Rounding off the top three is the Volkswagen Golf, which has been around for five decades. The Wolfsburg company has found buyers for at least 36 million examples so far.
