Check out a wallet-friendly Suzuki Jimny replica

Given how affordable and practical it is, it’s no surprise that the Suzuki Jimny often becomes a starting point for custom builds. Tuners can make it look like a downsized Defender or G-Class, just to give a few examples. But did you know that there are people out there who build replicas of the Jimny itself?

This example comes from GH Style, a body shop based in Indonesia. The donor car is none other than the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso for India (see video). To make it look a bit like the compact off-roader, the tuners redesigned its entire front end with a more rectangular-looking grille and new round headlights. They also replaced the bumper and added a black trim bit in the middle to create some contrast for Jimny-inspired aftermarket fog lights.

A look from the side reveals added rocker panels and fender extensions, as well as a set of white alloy wheels. The rear end makes do with a slightly larger spoiler and a tweaked bumper, while the taillights stay stock.

The S-Presso relies on a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine to drive it with 68 PS (67 hp / 50 kW) and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque. The real Jimny brings more to the table with its 102 PS (101 hp / 75 kW), but not by much. And with a curb weight around 700 kilos (1,500 pounds), the replica should be agile enough on the road. Granted, it has none of the off-roading capabilities of the original, but sometimes style alone is enough.
