The Elroq was approached at the starting line by a Ferrari Testarossa, a Lamborghini Countach and a Porsche 944, but proceeded to dominate them all.
Skoda argues that the drag-race comparison like this one is fair because all four contenders need around 5.5 seconds for their sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph). Furthermore, the Testarossa packs a significant weight advantage at barely 1.5 metric tons (3,300 lbs) with all the liquids already in. The Elroq tips the scales at nearly 2.0 metric tons (4,400 lbs) and is shaped like a brick in comparison.
However, where the EV has a clear advantage over the competition is its powertrain. Since the car in the video is an RS spec, it sends 340 PS (335 hp / 250 kW) to the wheels while exerting 545 Nm (402 lb-ft) of near-instant torque.
That’s why you can see it blasting off the start line to gain a head-start over the classics and only increase the gas towards the end. It ends up crossing the finish line in barely over 19 seconds, with the Ferrari almost a second late and the other two even farther behind.
