Xiaomi readies its largest hybrid SUV for launch

Xiaomi has shared some details about the first vehicle from its recently announced Sky Nomad lineup. Known as the N90, it is a large SUV that relies on a petrol-electric powertrain rather than battery-electric, like the company’s other models.

The exterior of the N90 can be described as angular and boxy, but also as understated, rather than aggressive. The headlights, the taillights and the front bumper contain references to Xiaomi’s own SU7 and YU7 models, but other than that, the Sky Nomad N90 looks like its own thing. And although the dimensions remain to be revealed, we expect it to be over five meters (197 inches) long.

Inside, there are three rows and seven seats total. The front seats can swivel around to face the rest of the cabin when not driving, creating a mobile living room of sorts. To reinforce the impression, Xiaomi installs a rather large folding table in the car, which you can see in the second video above. We are told that, despite such frivolous use of the interior space, the N90 still has enough left for a spacious trunk.

On the powertrain side of things, all we know right now is that it will consist of a 1.5-liter petrol engine, multiple electric motors and a decently large 70-kWh battery pack.

The premiere date and pricing are pending.
