Elderly BMW E46 falls victim to amateur Mustang styling attempt

A dealership in the Netherlands is asking mere €6,850 for this one-off BMW 318Ci (E46) that someone had tried to make look like a Ford Mustang.

You will be forgiven for not recognizing the donor vehicle outright, because the result is neither here nor there. Working with a regular 3-Series from 2001, the owner outfitted it with a weird hood resembling a crooked nose, small and deep-sat round headlamps, and a wacky radiator grille that could be hand-welded for all we know. They also flared the wheel arches and added six curved brake lights to the rear end.

Frankly, the job looks rather amateurish, especially when you notice the panel gaps at both ends. More importantly, the E46 arguably still doesn’t really resemble any Mustang generation as it is. It doesn’t help that the interior and the engine stay completely stock. A naturally aspirated four-cylinder mill built a quarter of a century ago presumably still outputs 118 PS (116 hp / 86 kW) to the wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. In reality, though, whoever thinks that just under seven thousand euros is a fair price for this jalopy would be wise to note the 235,000 kilometers (146,000 miles) on the odometer.
