V8-powered Furious 7 buggy hits auction

One out of six buggies built specifically for the seventh installment of the Fast & Furious movie saga is up for sale right now. Only three examples survived the filming, so it has a certain exclusivity to it.

The car wear glass-fiber plastic panels atop a stainless-steel space-frame. Short overhangs and long-travel suspension make it a capable overlanding machine, as do off-road tires wrapped around heavy-duty wheels. Disc brakes at all four corners help keep things in control.

A peek under the hood reveals a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine commonly found in Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette models. It outputs 436 PS (430 hp / 321 kW) to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.

The interior is bare-bones and houses little aside from a MasterCraft racing seat and a basic instrument cluster. A large LCD mounted behind a quick-release steering wheel displays the video feed from exterior cameras.

The buggy is not street-legal, but its former owner had it upgraded with all the necessary lights, so it could be possible to obtain a registration for it in select U.S. states.
