This Ferrari 250 GT SWB California replica costs 1/15th of the original

UK-based firm GTO Engineering has unveiled a new project aiming to bring back the glorious Ferraris of the past: the SWB Spyder Revival costs no less than $1 million to build, but is still fifteen times more affordable than the 250 GT SWB California it strives to imitate.

The company will accept donor Ferrari vehicles from its customers to use as a starting point in the project. It will even consider crashed and burned vehicles, which it will restore front the ground up replacing bodywork, improving chassis and refreshing the interior.

Like in all other Revival projects by GTO Engineering, the cars will mainly ship with a 3.0-liter V12 rated at around 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) under the hood. Those interested may request a higher displacement – either 3.5 or 4.0 liters. The transmission can be four- or five-speed manual.

Making one replica like this takes around 1,500 work-hours and is estimated to cost between £750,000 and £850,000 in the UK. Real Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder cars (see video) tend to fetch around fifteen times as much on auctions.
