Zacoe redefines modern BMW M2 with a styling upgrade

Car Tuning
Few modern cars can boast such a compelling combination of compact size, low weight and precise handling as the Mazda MX-5 Miata. It’s almost worth putting up with the roadster’s measly 170 PS (168 hp / 125 kW). If that “almost” struck a chord, check out this V8-swapped little monster.
The tuner behind the project took a 2012 Miata Special Edition and replaced its cute little engine with a 5.3-liter Small Block V8 made by General Motors. The listing claims it was good for 384 PS (379 hp / 282 kW) at the dyno, but there are no documents to prove the claim.
To ensure that the power-hungry Miata looks the part, it was also optioned with some aftermarket parts from V8 Roadsters. These included a custom Tremec six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels, c Chevy Camaro SS rear diff lock and a cool vented hood.
The petite Japanese ride is being sold on Cars&Bids right now with two days left and the bidding at $12,500. That’s not too shabby at all if you take a closer look at its condition. It has chips and dents everywhere, the AC needs maintenance, the electrics on board are faulty and the cabin looks rather poorly maintained. Adding insult to injury are a broken horn and door lock, as well as faulty dash gauges showing incorrect readings.
It looks like this Miata is still worth over ten grand to someone – and we are willing to bet it’s largely thanks to the engine.
