Mercedes-AMG previews its first-ever EV

The pioneering AMG EV is a liftback set to debut this June.

It is poised to succeed the gas-powered AMG GT and runs on an innovative platform called the AMG.EA, where EA stands for “Electric Architecture”.

Details are scarce right now, but the company points out two interesting features. For one, it says the new “axial flow” motors it designed are impressively compact for the amount of power they make. For another, it mentions a battery pack capable of rapid power input and output. It sounds like it should improve both acceleration and charging.
