Check out a wild Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG-based Batmobile build

A one-off Batmobile replica co-designed between Specautotuning and AVG Autos has gone up on sale in the UAE. Despite its ultrawide and heavily stylized bodywork, the listing claims it’s street-legal.

Do note that the legality probably only applies to the Emirates; other countries may or may not allow this Batman movie monster on public roads. Even so, it’s undeniably an impressive build, especially if you consider that it’s based on an orange Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG Coupe – you’ll find it at the end of the gallery here. The owner said it had cost €251,250 to build, and we wouldn’t doubt it one bit considering the sheer scope of the project.

Aside from an all-new body made from lightweight compounds, the replica boasts 22.5-inch wheels shod in off-road tires, pop-up doors shaped like insect wings and massive air intakes at both sides. The cabin is still recognizable as that of a CL55 AMG, but benefits from a new steering wheel and an added infotainment system. The engine under the hood continues to pump out its usual 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW); the only new addition here is a Kleemann performance exhaust system.
