Rare Kei off-roader with Pajero looks goes for $7.5k

Bring a Trailer has just closed a rather interesting deal in the United States, handing a 51-horsepower Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Snoopy Edition to a new owner who ended up paying $7,500.

The Pajero Mini was a Japan-only release and a Kei car, at that. Despite its humble 52 PS (51 hp / 38 kW) coming from 0.66 liters of displacement, it was a capable off-roader thanks to all-wheel drive, a dual-range transfer case, and a solid-beam rear axle. The example on sale was optioned with a four-speed automatic transmission.

However, what we believe played a bigger role in the successful sale is the fact that the tiny SUV left its factory as a Snoopy Edition. That’s right, it was officially themed after Snoopy from U.S. comic series Peanuts. You can find the doggo depicted on the mudflaps, the spare wheel cover, the b-pillars and the hood, as well as on the door panels and seat backs inside the cabin.

Despite having around 57,000 kilometers (35,000 miles) under its belt, the Pajero Mini was offered in excellent condition following some minor repairs. It probably helped that most of its mileage came from being driven on the fine roads of Japan.
