Lynk & Co 03 gets more engine power in the Plus Edition

Lynk & Co 03, a China-made four-door sedan/saloon based on Volvo’s CMA architecture, sports an original body design and comes rather well-equipped for the Chinese market, with various drivetrain options promising up to 190 hp / 142 kW. Today, Lynk & Co has announced the coming of an even stronger trim called the 03+.

The trim will ship with a 2.0-liter turbocharged Volvo Drive-E four-cylinder engine boosted to deliver 254 hp (190 kilowatts) along with 350 Nm (258 lb×ft) of torque. It also gets AWD, tweaked suspension, and an extreme drive mode called ‘Track’. Sprinting from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph) reportedly takes 5.9 seconds.

On the outside, the car sports new wheels (18- and 19-inch versions available), quad exhaust tips, and a carbon body kit that includes side skirt extensions, a front splitter, and a rear spoiler.

The cabin is draped with Alcantara and houses seats with improved lateral support.

Sales in China begin this summer, with prices likely to lie in the 37,000 USD area.

Finally, the company says an even more powerful 03 will debut later on, offering 350 hp (261 kW) and priced north of 70,000 USD.
