Porsche reveals what the Mission R hides under its skin

When Porsche introduced its Mission R Concept claiming it was a fully featured sports car, many wondered whether it really was. Anticipating this, the company published a series of materials revealing the insides of the prototype in their full glory.

The Mission R comes based on a shortened version of the PPE platform, which helps it weigh less than 1,655 kilos (3,650 lbs). RWD and AWD modifications of this design can easily attain levels of power comparable with the Porsche 911, the company says.

The takeaway is that the car is sufficiently advanced to put it into production right now, but Porsche says it has no intentions to produce the Mission R in its current form. Instead, it will use it as a basis for the upcoming all-electric 718 lineup.
