MG Windsor coming to India

The “new” MG Windsor for the Indian market is actually just a rebadged Baojun Yunduo, which has been in production in China since last summer.

Aside from being right-hand-drive, the car is virtually identical to the original. The badges and some trim bits are new, but that’s is. The same electric motor still drives the front axle with 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque. The battery holds 38 kilowatt-hours of energy and runs dry after 331 km (205 miles).

In India, the car will start from 999,000 Rupees, which is roughly equivalent to U.S. $11,900. Note that the battery is not included in the sale. Customers are invited to rent the battery pack instead and pay for it based on the distance driven, at a rate of 3.5 Rupees ($0.04) per kilometer.
