Car Tuning

Check out a naturally aged Ford F-250 restomod

Many Americans believe that Ford produced its best-looking trucks of all time in the 1970s. This F-250 “Highboy” by Fat Fender Garage illustrates it nicely.

The truck has overgrown with patina since its production year of 1978, and the owner who commissioned the job felt like keeping it there. The tuner agreed and switched its attention to the cabin and the engine instead. They swapped the stock powertrain for a 7.5-liter Lincoln V8 rated at 248 PS (245 hp / 182 kW) along with a custom exhaust system and a transfer case. These works were performed at Danny’s Vintage Fords.

New axles were then borrowed from a 2022 Super Duty pickup. Fox Performance dampers made it into the suspension, while the brakes and the electrics on board were completely overhauled using modern components.

The interior received a makeover in quality leather and colorful fabric intended to resemble the sunsets over Arizona, where this F-250 had spent its entire life.

A build like this will set you back $95,000.
