Suzuki Fronx cosplays a rally car for TAS-2025

Suzuki will be attending the Tokyo Auto Salon in early January with as many as seven vehicles, some of them design studies and other production-ready models. Here are the first details and photos.

The biggest premiere is arguably that of the Fronx Sea Bass Night Game, a coupe-like crossover utility vehicle stylized to look like a purebred rally racer. The base car has been sold in India sine 2023. In its show guise, it will be wearing a black livery with lime accents, a bull bar at the front end, a roof rack and extra lights. It will be riding on rally-style wheels shod in Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires.

Little is known about its technical specifications. The modded CUV will debut at the show next to a stock Fronx model, which is based on the same platform as the Suzuki Baleno hatchback for Japan. Unlike the Baleno, the Fronx isn’t limited to front-wheel drive – you can order it with AWD.

Another exhibit comes in the shape of the Swift Sport ZC33S Final Edition announced just yesterday. The hot hatch will be released exclusively in Japan with the sales start scheduled for March 19, 2025.

Rounding off the TAS lineup are four Kei cars for the domestic market. One of them is called the Wagon R Smile European Antique. It is a design study built specifically for the show with lace, ribbons and floral ornaments all around, as well as a pink exterior. The other three are mildly retouched versions of the Solio, Solio Bandit and Spacia Gear minivans. Unlike the fancy pink MPV, they will actually be mass-produced in Japan.
