This Lyric EV is the fastest Cadillac ever made

Cadillac has unveiled the first all-electric sports car from its V-Series lineup. Called the Lyriq-V, it has a 3.3-second launch time, making it the sportiest entry in the automaker’s entire history. The production and sales will begin in a few weeks, with prices starting from $79,990.

In its North American specification, the car outputs 615 hp (460 kW) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque. A 102-kWh battery pack gives it up to 460 km (285 miles) of range. Drivers can select from multiple sports-focused drivetrain modes.

The steering mechanism has been tweaked for performance and the adaptive suspension has been recalibrated for a lower ride height, Cadillac says. The powertrain is silent, so the car uses speakers to generate an artificial soundtrack. It sounds a bit like a Le Mans prototype racer, according to Cadillac.

On the outside, you can tell the new Lyriq-V from its non-V cousin by an understated aero kit, carbon-fiber accents all around, exclusive 22-inch wheels, Brembo brake calipers and a roof offset in black color (it’s not optional but standard). Inside, there is a new sports-style steering wheel, superior adjustable seats and an infotainment system with a n updated UI. The trim is unique as well and combines Nappa leather with precious wood accents.
