Rumor: Honda–Nissan merger falling through

On the off-chance that you aren’t completely fed up with the uncertainty surrounding the merger of Honda and Nissan, reports are coming in from Japan that it won’t be happening, after all.

Just to be clear: neither of the manufacturers has issued an official comment yet, so this is all hearsay. According to it, Honda has changed its original intention. At first, we were hearing about a more-or-less equal alliance. However, after the first stage of the talks failed to bring any results, Honda has reportedly changed its mind and now wants to absorb Nissan.

We hear that Nissan isn’t too happy about the arrangement now and is looking to quit the talks.
