Car Tuning
Last year, RML Group announced working on a track-focused supercar called the P39. Called the P39, it was designed on the Porsche 911 Turbo S chassis and supposed to lap up the Nürburgring in 6 minutes 45 seconds – faster than a stock 911 GT3. Preorders are officially open now.
The exterior design draws upon Le Mans hypercars and is nearly all new. Most panels are carbon fiber now, and the resulting body is 170 mm (6.7”) longer than stock, as well as 90 mm (3.5”) wider. A towering rear wing, a front splitter and a rear diffuser generate up to 923 kilograms (2.035 pounds) of downforce at 285 km/h (177 mph), RML claims.
The engine benefits from a high-end tune that sees its output rise to 933 PS (920 hp / 686 kW) and 956 Nm (705 lb-ft) of torque. The tuner doesn’t specify any launch times, but says that different boost modes are available for a compromise between speed and handling.
Production plans exist for 39 units priced from £495,000, which roughly corresponds to U.S. $670,000. That’s for the components and the work only – no donor car included. The P39 is slated for a Silverstone Festival debut in August and should ship before the end of the year.
