Acura slows down on EV adoption

Following in the desperate skid marks of many other automakers, Acura also no longer feels like pursuing an all-electric future of transportation.

The premium brand’s earlier product strategy had envisioned EVs making up 60% of all global vehicle demand by 2030. The company now admits that that goal no longer looks realistic, so a more flexible strategy is needed.

Moving forward, Acura will prioritize releasing hybrid cars, much like most of its rivals do these days. Its parent company, Honda, has all the necessary technology, so it shouldn’t come at too much extra cost.
