Nissan unveils its first China-only EV

The Nissan-Dongfeng joint enterprise has arrived at this year’s Auto Guangzhou show with the N7, the company’s first fully electric sedan designed in China on a new unibody platform. It comes loaded with the latest multimedia tech and a smart self-driving system by Momenta; all powertrain specs won’t be announced until the launch in H1 2025.

The show car is sized 4,930 x 1,895 x 1,487 millimeters large with 2,915 mm of wheelbase. Nissan claims it follows its V-Motion design language, but the signature V-shaped radiator grille is missing. The headlights consist of hundreds of individual LEDs and can play back simple animations.

The infotainment system runs on a Snapdragon 8295P chipset and has 32 gigabytes of RAM on board, as well as 256 GB of internal storage. The company also mentions “numerous driving assists”, but doesn’t go into any details.

The production will take place at the Nissan-Dongfeng factory in China. The N7 will become the automaker’s first electric vehicle from its mid-term product development strategy called The Arc, which it revealed to the investors this spring.
