Toyota gets rid of two JDM Corollas

The production of the Corolla Axio sedan and Corolla Fielder wagon will come to an end in October.

The E160 generation of the Corolla has been around for 13 years. It was largely a JDM product with limited exports, and since 2019, Toyota has only sold these cars to corporations. We are told that driving schools in particular were among the biggest clients. In fact, they were the ones that received a formal end-of-production notice from Toyota this week.

With the E160 lineup soon to be gone, there will be gap in the company’s domestic lineup because it has no plans for another generation. That said, customers in Japan and abroad will still be able to buy the more recent E210 model (see video).
