BYD gets a full-size truck ready to rumble

The Chinese automaker is busy designing a large pickup truck for select markets, says BYD Australia branch CEO David Smitherman.

According to him, the company sees a distinct opportunity in releasing such a vehicle in China and Australia, where there is a big target audience for it. It is less likely to be released in other countries, though, particularly because of the hostile stance the USA recently adopted against all Chinese car imports.

The compact-sized BYD Shark seen in the gallery and the video here is the only pickup truck in the company’s portfolio so far.
