Fiat resurrects Panda 4x4, hints at production plans

The Grande Panda 4x4 seen here is still technically a concept, but it may become a production model in the future.

The SUV is based on the recently introduced Grande Panda model, but has an exterior inspired by a model called the Panda 4x4 from the 1980s. It wears the same shade of dark red with plastic side trims and light beige stamped wheels, sporting a nice vintage look. It also has silver guard trims on both bumpers, an expedition rack on the roof and auxiliary lighting.

Fiat hasn’t provided any technical details other than saying that the SUV benefits from a second electric motor driving its rear wheels. It did drop a number of hints to imply that a production version was in development, calling the concept a “predecessor of the new Grande Panda 4x4” and its “likely next AWD model”.
