2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class bows with up to 395 PS, €49k+ sticker

Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced its facelifted C-Class sedan and wagon in Germany. Both received the company’s modern styling cues and improved tech across the board.

On the exterior side of things, you can recognize the new C-Class by its tri-point star headlights, matching taillights, and a similarly styled radiator grille now boasting a wide gloss-black bezel. The doors project Mercedes logos onto the pavement when opened, there are a few new color options on the list, and the available wheel designs have been revised while keeping the sizes fixed at 17–19 inches.

The interior doesn’t look different at all, unless you squint and notice several physical controls added to the steering wheel. Mercedes argues that most of the refresh took place under the trim this time around. For instance, the AI-powered voice assistant can now hold longer conversations on “serious topics” while supplying more useful information than ever before. The 15-speaker Burmester 3D-Surround Audio system became aware of the passenger count and positions, so it now optimizes the music to fill the space with the utmost precision. Noise proofing and vibration reduction have likewise been upgraded.

For powertrains, customers in Europe are choosing from a number of petrol and diesel mild-hybrids, as well as a range-topping plug-in hybrid known as the 400e 4Matic. It makes 395 PS (390 hp / 291 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque and offers 100 kilometers (62 miles) of WLTP electric range per charge.

Prices for the new C-Class start from €48,800 in Germany.
