Lucid Air enlists with the police

Lucid Air sedans will be employed by police officers in the USA, the company reports adding that the first road tests are already underway in California.

The new Lucid “Pursuit” wears a police car livery alongside flashing lights, a bull bar, and large stamped wheels. Such wheels may seem unusual on a Lucid, but they are considered standard for U.S. patrol vehicles.

The news has already caused some backlash from the Californian taxpayers who don’t feel like luxury EVs are the best investment of their money. Every standard Air model costs between $70,000 and $250,000, and the Pursuit is almost guaranteed to be more expensive than that with all the extra equipment. On the upside, it has all the acceleration a police car may ever need.
