Next-gen Nissan Murano goes into production

Despite its dire financial struggles, Nissan has managed to proceed with the production of the fourth-generation Murano crossover.

The first production car has already rolled off the assembly line in Smyrna, TN, USA. The Smyrna factory has been making Murano models for four years now, and has so far produced around 145,000 Gen.3 SUVs.

Sales in North America should start in the first quarter of the new year, Nissan says. By March, the factory is expected to raise the output to 6,700 Murano units per month.
