The refreshed Toyota Aqua GR Sport is already available for ordering on its domestic market starting from ¥3,238,400. New looks and better equipment are on the menu this time around, whereas extra muscle is not.
The regular Toyota Aqua underwent an update last fall, and the GR Sport version follows the same example. It wears a new aero kit, 17-inch wheels with a quad-V-spoke pattern, and red brake calipers to help distinguish it from the standard version.
The interior trim is predominantly black with rare grey accents, new pedal pads and different, ergonomic seats with integrated headrests. Toyota claims that the steering and the suspension have been overhauled for a sharper and more responsive driving experience. Things like deflectors, decals, extra badges and carbon-fiber license plate frames are listed under options.
Like its predecessor, the 2027 Toyota Aqua GR Sport relies on a mild-hybrid powertrain composed of a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated engine, a single electric motor and a CVT. The engine delivers 91 PS (90 hp / 67 kW) to the front wheels and the motor adds 80 PS (79 hp / 59 kW) of its own. All-wheel drive is not available, and the same goes for all-electric driving mode.
