Tank to introduce its new model, the ‘600’, at the Chengdu Motor Show 2021

Chinese automaker Wey made its Tank sub-brand a standalone car marque in March this year. The Tank 300 is still being sold with the Wey badge, but an all-new SUV named Tank 600 will hit the spotlight at the Chengdu Motor Show in China in late August 2021.

Despite the belligerent-sounding name, the new marque will deal exclusively in civilian cars – no military involved. No details have been revealed about the model 600 yet, but we suspect that it might ship with Wey’s three-liter, twin-turbo six-cylinder engine burning gasoline for 353 PS (348 hp / 260 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. A nine-speed transmission may drive all four wheels.

The teaser sketches make a good job overemphasizing the large wheels, the sculpted sides and the wheel arches of the new SUV. Check out a single leaked photo of the car at the end of our gallery to see what it really looks like (just note that there is no guarantee the photo is genuine). Our favorite design decision comes in the shape of an air intake slit seen above the radiator grille.
