Novelties
Traum, an automotive brand controlled by the Chinese manufacturer Zotye, has released some cars like the Meet 3 and the S70 that looked like almost exact copies of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This sounds less surprising if you consider that both were sketched and designed by Benedek Tóth, an ex-employee of that German company. More importantly, however, the company has revealed its new Traum Seek 5 SUV today, and it doesn’t look as much as a bunch of recycled ideas.
If you try hard enough, you may still find some Mercedes features in the rear part of the vehicle. But at least the Traum Seek 5 has its own radiator grille design. Two, actually: one with a sparse cellular pattern, another with horizontal fins.
The passenger space features three seat rows for a total of 7 passengers. The fascia is trimmed with imitation leather, the instrument panel is fully digital, and the infotainment system can recognize user gestures. Other equipment includes LED headlights, power trunk lid and front seats, a panorama glass roof and so on.
Just like Traum S70, the Traum Seek 5 comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 139 hp / 103 kW at its disposal. A version equipped with a regular 1.8-liter atmospheric engine will become available later. Both versions will support manual and automatic transmission.
Sales begin later this summer.
