Vigilante, a U.S.-based restorer of Jeep vehicles, has unveiled its take on the Grand Wagoneer model, complete with a host of visual and technical upgrades.
The chassis has been painstakingly redesigned to handle the extra load. Eibach springs and Fox dampers should ensure smooth driving even over bad terrain, especially compared against the OEM leaf springs. BF Goodrich all-terrain tires cater for the grip, while six-piston Baer calipers at the front provide adequate deceleration.
Customers can choose from three HEMI V8 units to put under the hood of their SUV, rated from 492 PS (485 hp / 362 kW) to 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 746 kW). As for the exterior, it represents a mix between the retro and the modern, and comes supported by a frame. The interior takes seven passengers and is full of modern amenities.
Pleasant surprises are not to be expected from pricing, though, because like most restomods, this one costs a pretty penny. The base version starts from U.S. $265,000, the intermediate 717-PS (707-hp / 527-kW) comes in at $15,000 above that, and the top spec will lighten your account by $305,000.
