U.S.-based aftermarket shop 404 Elite Autos has transformed a luxurious Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 into a menacing, yet at the same time eye-catching beast on wheels.
The first things that grab your attention include a red tri-point star on the hood and matching badges on the tailgate and the rear pillars. The whole body has been wrapped in satin-black vinyl and further coated with a layer of ceramic to give it the unique shine seen in the gallery above. The wheels look stock or close to that, but a peek behind the spokes reveals what seems to be new brake calipers painted red.
The interior comes draped in black leather with white stitching and red contour backlight all around, mirroring the exterior theme quite nicely. It could almost be considered elegant if it weren’t for the “starry sky” LED headliner that everybody has been obsessed with ever since Rolls-Rolls started the trend. Tastes are subjective, of course, and it’s not like the Maybach doesn’t have a reputation as a party cruiser.
404 Elite Autos never mentioned any power upgrades, so we assume that the SUV continues to rely on its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to send 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. Routed through a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic AWD system, it’s enough to take the Mercedes luxobarge from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds.
