Check out a Lexus LX570 that became a convertible

A UAE-based coachbuilder chopped the roof off this Lexus LX570 for a client interested in falconry, a popular pastime in the Emirates.

The luxury off-roader lost all of its pillars except the front ones in the process, necessitating the introduction of a robust safety cage to protect the passengers in the event of a crash. A local vlogger claims that the SUV shed weight and gained speed thanks to the removed roof, even though no modifications were made to the 5.7-liter V8 under the hood. In turn, chopped front fascia improved the approach angle.

It is reported that the car is road-legal and comes with all the needed certificates. There is no mention of any costs involved.

As impressive as the built may be, it would not be the first one of the kind. Five years ago, a dealership in the UAE posted a sale ad featuring another similar conversion.
