BMW M2 becomes sportier for MY2025

Following the main BMW 2-Series, the M2 coupe has received its own share of updates heading into the next model year.

The overall scope of modifications is the same, but the powertrain enjoys some special attention. For one thing, the 3.0-liter I6 engine gets 20 additional horses for a total of 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW). The torque stays capped at 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) with the manual gearbox, but goes up to 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) with automatic transmission. The stick-shift version benefits from faster throttle response and added elasticity.

These modifications allow the new M2 to sprint faster. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint times go down one-tenth of a second to 4 seconds flat in auto mode and 4.2 seconds in manual. Hitting 200 km/h (124 mph) is a matter of 12.9 and 13.7 seconds, respectively (down 0.6s). The top speed stays unchanged at 250 km/h (155 mph) in the standard version and goes up to 285 km/h (177 mph) with the Driver’s Package.
