VW workers strike in Germany
Just as planned, tens of thousands of Volkswagen factory workers from as many as nine manufacturing sites in Germany have gone on what they call “a warning strike”.
This happened shortly after negotiations fell through between the company executives and the trade unions. Right now, Volkswagen still believes it is justified in its decision to shut down several factories in Germany and dismiss their staff, with those remaining facing 10% salary cuts at best.
In turn, the trade unions in the country say that the workers will continue to go on strikes every day until at least December 9, when the next talks are scheduled to take place.
