Carlex reimagines the G-Class in a marine yacht style

Polish interior specialist Carlex Design continues expanding its “Vintage” G-Class lineup. The latest addition is called “Yachting Edition” and flaunts natural wood trim to evoke those sea cruise vibes.

The donor vehicle used for the conversion is a Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG initially rated at 585 PS (577 hp / 430 kW). Carlex leaves the powertrain alone by default, but those who would like some extra thrust can order an upgrade. The main emphasis is made on styling: the whole car gets a sleek dual-tone finish with flared fenders, tuner’s logos and designers’ autographs all around to show for being a special edition. 22-inch aftermarket wheels, lowered suspension and a sports-grade exhaust system round off the look.

Even more impressive is the cabin makeover. Every surface in view gets retrimmed in quality soft leather or artificial suede, which takes hundreds of workhours to stitch and apply. There is plenty of ornamentation and texturing wherever you look, and the materials used are all high quality. Brushed aluminum accents are used throughout instead of the somewhat ubiquitous carbon fiber.

Owning a Carlex G-Class Yachting Edition starts from U.S. $400,000 before options.
