Ford Ranger Super Duty announced in Australia

Ford’s mid-sized Ranger pickup will soon get a Super Duty modification officially rated for 4.5 metric tons (~9,920 lbs) of towing capacity.

This new version is currently being developed by Ford Australia for the local market, but it may become available in other regions later on.

It can be argued that superior towing capacity is essential for the Ranger in Australia, where competition is tight in the pickup truck segment. That said, Ford is also offering its F-150 range Down Under for those needing a full-size truck.
