Toyota Fortuner comes to Thailand

Toyota has revealed the Fortuner GR Sport for the Thai market, landing it there with exterior improvements, a special cabin trim, and new springs/shock absorbers.

A similar version debuted in Indonesia not long ago, but the Thailand version has different-looking DRLs, a new radiator grille, more body kit parts, and 20-inch wheels instead of 18-inch ones.

Customers can choose from white, black and red for the exterior finish. The brake calipers are also painted red by default, but technically the same model as before. Inside, the seats are wrapped in a combination upholstery with red stitching, the pedals wear aluminum pads, and the steering wheel has a 12-o-clock mark.

In Thailand, the Fortuner will be offered with a 2.8-liter diesel engine rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission drives all four wheels in this version. Like in Indonesia, there is also a gasoline engine good for 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) and a turbo diesel capable of 149 PS (111 kW). Both are considered entry-level and only support RWD.

The starting price is 1,879,000 Baht.
