Volvo ES90 bows in Europe with full specifications

The Volvo ES90 is a high-riding liftback with 3.1 meters (121 inches) between the axles and 203 mm (7.93 inches) of ground clearance. Preordering is already available in select European countries.

The all-electric car fits 733 liters (25.9 cubic feet) of luggage in the main trunk and 22 liters (0.78 cu. ft.) into the frunk. It’s the company’s lowest-drag vehicle so far with a wind resistance ratio of just 0.25.

Like the SUV-shaped EX90, the ES90 runs on a platform called the SPA2. The base version uses a single motor rated at 245 PS (242 hp / 180 kW) and a 92-kWh battery pack good for 645 km (400 miles) of range.

Paying a premium for a middle spec gets you two motors, 442 PS (436 hp / 325 kW) and up to 700 km (435 miles) of range from a larger 106-kWh battery pack.

The flagship spec keeps the same battery, but packs 670 PS (661 hp / 493 kW) and can sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in around 4 seconds, Volvo claims.

All versions of the car have 800V internals and support 350kW charging power. This lets them replenish the charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Staying plugged into a charger for 10 mins will get you 300 km (186 miles) of range on average.

Trim-wise, Volvo promises a new infotainment system with Google services and a 14.5-inch vertical display. Four-zone climate control, a 25-speaker Bowers&Wilkins audio system and an ADAS package are also included as standard. The latter comprises a LiDAR, five radars, seven cameras and 12 sensors.
