Airstream’s latest camper is so tiny, an SUV can tow it

U.S.-based RV and motorhome specialist Airstream has added an interesting new entry to its World Traveler lineup. Known as the 17RB, it’s a trailer that’s 5.28 meters (17 feet) long and suitable for towing by a regular SUV.

The model features a retro-style aluminum exterior with riveted seams and dual-pane acrylic windows. It comes with an AC that should ensure a consistent microclimate, and can be optioned with 200 watts worth of solar panels on the roof. A 2.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack is also available for longer trips.

The interior is clean and laconic, giving off cozy Ikea vibes with its bed for two, dining area and kitchen. The latter features a fridge with a freezer, a water heater and a stove with two burners. There are assorted storage opportunities on board along with a 24-inch TV plugged into some premium speakers. Those who need it may opt for a microwave, too.

The production of the World Traveler 17RB is already underway. Prices in the United States start from $64,400, which may seem like a lot for a camper as small as this one, but it’s actually one of the cheapest models on Airstream’s list right now.
