2026 Geely Okavango/Haoyue L revealed with major updates

The Geely Haoyue L a.k.a. Okavango has been facelifted for the first time since its debut in China in late 2022. Based on the patents submitted to the country’s database earlier this week, it ended up with a revised exterior, a new engine and a five-seat cabin.

Changes start with a downsized, chrome-free radiator grille accompanying a new front bumper. The central air intake is larger than before, while the side intakes now sport silver shrouds. The rear end looks more or less the same. Wheels will be available in 18-inch and 19-inch sizes, the spec sheet says.

The whole car measures 4,865 x 1,910 x 1,770 mm (190 x 74.6 x 19.2 inches) with 2,825 mm (110.4 inches) between the axles. That’s just 5 millimeters (0.2”) longer than before the facelift.

Customers will be choosing from five, six and seven seats. The five-seater is new and the only Haoyue L to have two seat rows. The seven-seater has a bench seat in the middle row, while the six-seater is currently only available in a flagship trim called Exclusive. It also features a distinct front end.

The old 2.0-liter turbo capable of 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW) is no longer available, or so the patent data suggests. Replacement comes in the form of a smaller 1.5-liter engine rated at 181 PS (179 hp / 133 kW). As a result, the new version of the SUV is capped at 185 km/h instead of 200 (115 mph instead of 124).

Like the current version, the new Haoyue L uses a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to drive the front axle. AWD is not an option.
