Stellantis & GM postpone new cars until future clears up

We reported a few days ago that Ford postponed the next-gen F-150 launch to iron out some powertrain quirks. Similar messages are now coming from General Motors and Stellantis Group.

Insiders from both companies claim that the recent drastic transformation of the car market – particularly the EV segment – prompts a full revision of their respective product strategies. It’s one thing to produce EVs when you can fall back on government funding if things go wrong, and another one entirely when you have to make them profitable right here and now, without taxpayers’ money poured into incentives.

With President Donald Trump back at the rudder, V8 engines may actually make a brief comeback. The important thing to realize here is that Trump will be gone in four years, making future more uncertain than ever for automakers in the US and beyond.
