2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer lands with significant improvements

Jeep has introduced the new Grand Wagoneer lineup, which now includes what we previously knew as the “normal” Wagoneer and a new high-end hybrid spec. The exterior and interior changes are few but welcome, while most of the interesting stuff goes on under the hood.

Starting on the outside, the company’s signature seven-part radiator grille now features an illuminated upper half that flows seamlessly into the side lights. The bumper rocks a larger air intake and T-shaped daytime running lights. The brake lights are also new, and what little chrome trim there still remained is gone in the new version.

For the wheels, customers can pick from options ranging between 18 and 22 inches, most of them new. The interior makes do with a bigger infotainment display now measuring 12 inches from corner to corner instead of 10.1 inches. The HUD is also slightly larger than before, and that’s about all.

The old 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 426 PS (420 hp / 313 kW) and 635 Nm (468 lb-ft) of torque is still available for ordering. For those who would rather buy a range extender, there is a new spec on the list called REEV. It features a Pentastar V6 engine acting purely as a power generator, a couple of e-motors and a 92-kWh battery pack. The peak output of the system amounts to a brisk 656 PS (647 hp / 482 kW) along with 840 Nm (620 lb-ft) if torque. This Grand Wagoneer is expected to sprint from zero to 96.6 km/h (60 mph) in about five seconds and cover more than 807 km (500 miles) per charge, but Jeep warns that these numbers are preliminary estimates.

In case you missed it, the SUV formerly known as the Jeep Wagoneer is now also called “Grand Wagoneer” to avoid confusion. Apparently, buyers confused those two for different models, while they were essentially just different trim versions. If you were ever in the market for the Wagoneer, you’ll find the latest version listed under “Grand Wagoneer”.

The production start is slated for late 2025. The REEV version will take several months longer to arrive, and the company promises us to reveal its exact specifications as soon as they are finalized.
