The Koenigsegg Gemera is a 1,727-HP family-friendly hypercar

The Swedish hypercar builder has taken the wraps off the Gemera, its first four-seater hybrid on record. Powered by a 2.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo engine and three electric motors, it will emerge in a series of 300 units.

The internal combustion engine delivers 608 PS (600 hp, or 447 kW) and 608 Nm (448 lb-ft) of torque. The interesting part is that it supports a variety of fuels, including the regular gasoline, second-gen ethanol fuel, CO2-neutral methanol (Vulcanol), and E85. The peak powertrain output amounts to a mind-shattering 1,727 PS (1,703 hp, or 1,270 kW) and 3,500 Nm (2,580 lb-ft). Charged like this, the unlikely family hauler zaps from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.9 seconds and maxes out at 400 km/h (248 mph). The all-electric range is capped at 50 km (31 miles).

The Gemera also boasts rear-wheel steering, small trunks at both ends of the car measuring 200 liters (7 cubic feet) each, and hollow carbon-fiber wheels (Aircore Gen.3 Centerlock). The equipment list also mentions ABS, electronic traction control, six smart airbags, adaptive cruise control, high-end audio, Wi-Fi, and four cup holders with temperature control.
