Lexus' hottest RX so far spied testing in Europe

A still-unannounced performance version of the Lexus RX has been photographed in Europe the other day, Carscoops reports. Based on the recent rumors, it could be the Morizo RR edition.

Compared to the standard RX (see video), the prototype in the gallery above flaunts a more aggressive body kit with reshaped air intakes and flared arches. The ground clearance seems to be smaller than usual, and a look at the seemingly widened wheels reveals Brembo’s red brake calipers and slotted rotors.

Lexus has yet to share any information about the car. Unofficial reports claim it will reach the showrooms in 2028 powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine as a part of a next-gen hybrid powertrain. The combined output will likely amount to 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW), these sources say. If true, the alleged RX Morizo RR will force competition upon the BMW X5 M – at least, in Europe.

Back in spring, Lexus sent a regular RX SUV testing with what looked like its next facelift. Based on this, we suppose that the company will want to introduce the Morizo RR edition soon after the 2027 Lexus RX.
